![]() I believe it all boils down to who am I doing all this for?Īm I doing it to glorify God, or am I doing it to glorify me?ĭo Not Sound A Trumpet-In other words…Don’t toot your own horn! So how do we do all of this to been seen and not doing it to be noticed? We are suppose to be the salt and the light, a lot of things we do as a Christian is outward…Go to Church, Be Baptized, Partake of the Lord’s Supper, Pray, Tithe, Read Scripture. Matthew 5:16-Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. So how do we balance the difference between doing things for show and doing things to be seen! “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food I was thirsty and you gave Me drink I was a stranger and you took Me in I was naked and you clothed Me I was sick and you visited Me I was in prison and you came to Me.’ Matthew 25:33-40-And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then other companies will have the advertisements and they will make mention of their charitable acts. There are business who have big signs hanging in their stores with all their charitable donations displayed for all the world to see. In our everyday life we are confronted by people who let you know all of the things they accomplish in their life. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward.īut when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Matthew 6:1-4-“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them.
